When you’re finally “skinny”…

-not all clothing items will fit you perfectly like you believe they will 

-not every guy on earth will stare at you in awe 

-you wont ALWAYS be happy. 

I am kind of sick of seeing posts about how it’s important to be skinny so you “can wear ANYTHING you want and it will look good” 

I guess today I have thought a lot about why I personally want to be fit and not skinny. Earlier I wrote a post about why I hate the word skinny. 

I went to the gym and was elliptical-ing and I was envying all these beautiful women and their fit and gorgeous bodies. Then I thought to myself: “I wonder if any of these women ever weighed 250 lbs at one point in their lives?” or “Maybe they fought an ED and were a measly 90 lbs but overcame it and are now this inspiration?” I stopped hating on them and realized that even if they were born with good genes, they very well could have gone through a struggle to get them to where they are now. You know what else? I sure as hell bet that they go into a clothing store and feel shitty about themselves too. I also bet you that not every thing looks good on them either. 

I challenge you, if you haven’t already, to think about the real reasons you want to lose weight. If you hit a plateau recently and mixing your workout up isn’t working, try reevaluating your reasons to lose. If you are struggling with motivation, ask yourself “who am I doing this for?”. Write it down somewhere and put it away and on those days when you wanna give up or you are hating your body, take it out and read it. You won’t regret it. I promise :)
